MOTIVATION & SCOLDING

MOTIVATION & SCOLDING

"Swap, 'Why is this happening to me?' To 'What is this trying to teach me?'. It will change everything". - JAY SHETTY

Motivation and scolding are well thought-out the backbone of a successful and disciplined individual. Motivation is of different types. Intrinsic and extrinsic are famous among all. Intrinsic motivation means when you are motivated from inside and extrinsic means when you are motivated by outside like by other people, situations, or observing something very deep.

Now, I genuinely observed that motivation comes from scolding too. We usually hold our children, younger ones, or anyone around us. But a few of us observed the reason behind that. So the reason behind that scolding is to motivate someone when they got distracted from their goals or they are in the wrong direction. Scolding is sometimes proved to be a kind of great motivation in our lives.

Once, my new manager scolded me and my colleagues for 30 minutes, just visualize those 30 minutes! That sounds horrible, Right! But I was observing her silently...and at last, I concluded that what leadership skills she has! She is a brilliant personality. I decided to be like her in the future. And, as usual, the rest of the colleagues started criticizing her and making fun of her. So, now just see the difference between scolding and motivation, like I got motivated by her as she was scolding us for the right things or to be better in our work, but the other people took that as scolding and so they start criticizing her on her back and hiding their own mistakes. Whenever we are scolded by someone, if we take that as scolding only and then criticize over that by hiding our mistakes, we will never grow, our growth stops fully. But if we consider those words as motivation, then for sure we will succeed in our life, because we learn a lot from our mistakes. Scolding is like a very fine thing that truly tells us what erroneous we did, and where we have to correct it. That's why there are a few people who scold us; some of them are our parents, teachers, and a genuine friend. This was about extrinsic motivation.

Now, for intrinsic motivation, on the whole, our needs can motivate us to do anything. According to "Maslow's hierarchy of human needs, physiological needs are the first goal of every individual to achieve, they are food, water, and shelter. Just give me a minute to think upon this, are you also working for the same? We cannot survive without food, water, and shelter, so these needs motivate us to do hard work and earn money. This is a natural phenomenon.

Also, we should have a specific purpose in our life so that we for eternity stay goal-directed. So the first step is to find out what do we want to do? Especially what makes us happier? We have to question ourselves. We have to make short-term goals in doing things that make us happy. These things will motivate us to work harder for achieving the target, and that's called goal-directed behavior. We can make a short term goal; it can be for a day, a week, a month, or as per our target and handiness. If we start this then surely we would be happier then as ever before. We can do and complete a lot of our favorite things in a certain set of time. The completion of our target gives us more joy than anything else. Also, motivates us to repeat the same work.

Small changes add to our happiness, material things will never make you happy; showing off to the people who you don't know or like is sounds fake. Always be an observer, observe small things. It will enhance many skills. Sometimes, we can't even expect whose words will be the golden words for us, hence be a good listener and a deep observer.

If someone scolds you then don't observe the negative sides, for instance, never think like this as you get insulted in front of others, or due to that scolding, your image goes down. Instead, try to learn from that scolding. Always,  motivated by these small-small scolding, because sometimes when we become lazy at that time it works out and brings back our energy to work more efficiently and productively.

Points to remember-

@Motivate your inner self and others.

@Motivate from your mistakes and your past experiences.

@ Observe each and everything happening around you and learn something positive from that.

@Give the specific time to motivate yourself by reading, listening, or watching positive stuff.

@Motivate others to do the good things which are help full in their self-growth.
