DETACHMENT.....AN UNBEARABLE PAIN.
THE STORY OF CHAMPA."You only lose what you cling to"-Buddha.

Champa(flower) |
As we all have to detach from one and the
other person in our life, just because of a common reason that is death. But
sometimes in spite of death, there are many distinct reasons too. And at last, Detachment gives a bottomless pain, suffering, and hardships. It's a very decisive
time in everyone's life to bear such pain of detachment.
However, I have a practically accepted example given
by our environment. It's like a good experience for me which shows that our
nature also gives us many instances to triumph over hardships.
Once in my working place, a flowering
tree was trimmed by some gardeners, they were cutting the needless branches to
give it a proper pattern. As it is my favorite flower tree typically called
"Champa".
Champa is probably one of the most
well-known incense types. Champa, or Campaka in Sanskrit, is a large, evergreen
tree with beautifully fragrant flowers. The flowers can be found in a range of
colors from creamy white to orange. The fragrance of the Champa flower is
strong and distinguished, and for this reason, it had been an integral part of
Indian spiritual worship from time immemorial. Like in the Bhagavata Geeta and
Mount Kailash, the adobe of Lord Shiva Champa has its great significance. The
gopis of Vrindavan talked to the champaka trees in the Vrindavana forest while
eagerly searching for Krishna, asking them if they had seen their beloved
passing by. The fragrance of the Champa flower is characterized by its ability
to spread over a wide diameter. So in this way, there is a vast significance of
Champa.
It's like a wonder for me that this holy
tree taught me such a big understanding of life. So as I said, I saw gardeners
were cutting the branches of the tree, to giving it a proper shape. When I saw
that tree was trimmed by the gardeners then I could not stop myself from asking
for the few branches of the tree, so that I can plant them in my garden. Then
they gave me those few branches then I took them to my home and planted in my
garden. I watered it regularly and waiting for the new leaves. But at my home,
all were saying that this branch would not grow. My younger brothers touching
it again and again, so it was not able to tie up with the soil. But after
waiting for a long period of 6 months finally, leaves started sprang upon the
branches. And then very soon, flowers started blooming on my beautiful young
plant. It was like a moment of happiness and also to think over that
observation which I did in the previous six months. It shows us how time heals
everything and how we can also stand independently and blooms like it. It does
not matter that we got separated from our loved ones so will die. Just have
faith in time and our self-determination.
We saw how That small branch got detached from its tree, how those self-seeking
gardeners cut the branches just for the sake of giving a proper shape to the
tree or with the statement that "These branches are unnecessary or
useless" and then after that excruciating process to start its new life in
a new place, with a lot of efforts. But now it has its own existence. Everything healed up, new flowers blossom on
that plant. This was the sad but a brave story of Champa.
What I observed from that natural phenomenon is that it
teaches me about the condition of detachment and how to overcome that. As when
we detach from our loved ones, it brings up a lot of pain and sorrow. Many times other people talk about those sorrows, which happened with us, which hurt us again and again, and due to this our wounds not get healed, like in the story my brothers touching the plant again and again so it could not tie-up with the soil, but as time passed everything healed. This is
merely the negative side, but one day will make us a self-dependent person, and
then we come to know about the reason at the back of this painful process. Time
can heal everything. Many hardships are there in our life, at that time many of
us just choose a wrong path to end our life, some may choose the stage of despair,
and very rare can triumph over from that hardship and provide evidence that
they are the real warrior. They turned those sufferings into blessings. We all
should be like this because in this world one day we all have to face such
circumstances.
