The first day of the "Chaitra" marks the beginning of the Hindu solar new year. From today a new month begins according to Vikram samvat calendar named "Chaitra". This day has a lot many significance. Here are some significances of this day. As we Indians never stop celebrating festivals, even in the Biggest Pandemic crisis, it is because we tied up with our culture very deeply. These festivals bring excitement to our minds, a kind of positivity comes automatically. This is because the rituals we follow are scientifically working in a positive direction for our health as well as for our mind.
VAISAKHI
# It marks the beginning of the Hindu solar new year.
# It is the historical & religious festival of Sikhism.
# Vaisakhi's significance in Sikhism is the birth of the Sikh order started after the persecution and execution of "GURU TEGH BAHADUR" for refusing to convert to Islam under the orders of the Mughal Emperor "AURANGZEB". This triggered the coronation a ceremony in which a crown is placed on the head of a new king or queen, of "GURU GOVIND SINGH" the tenth Guru of Sikhism, and the historic formation of Khalsa, both on the Vaisakhi day. Sahib Singh Bedi, a descendant of "GURU NANAK DEV JI", conducted the coronation.
#Vaisakhi was also the day when the British colonial empire official, General REGINALD DYER, committed the Jallianwala Bagh massacre at a gathering, an event influential to the Indian movement against colonial rule. It was a horrible accident that happened on this religious day.
# This festival is also celebrated by Hindus, The Hindus perform Daan (charity) especially of hand fans, water pitchers, and seasonal fruits. A ritual dip in the Ganga river or other holy water bodies is often performed. Community fairs are held at Hindu pilgrimage sites. In many areas, the procession of temple deities is taken out.
GUDI PADWA
#This is the special festival that marks the traditional Hindu new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus.
#Celebrated in and near "MAHARASHTRA & GOA" on the first day of Chaitra month in the spring season.

VIKRAM SAMVAT CALENDAR
The Hindu New Year begins with the new moon day of Chaitra month. This day is also known as Chaitra Sukhladi. On this day Chaitra Navaratri beghins. this is the second most celebrated Navratris of the year, which marks the beginning of the Hindu lunar new year.
