REFLECT UPON STORMS - A FLASH BACK OF GRATITUDE!
AND ONCE THE STORM IS OVER!
As all of us have been through hardships, remember those days when you were feeling like hell, fully depressed, it was like everything has ended, felt like we can not survive in this world anymore, so and so. The reasons might be different for all of us but that time of storm & the way of feeling those emotions would be almost the same. When we were going through that storm, we used to think about how this storm would pass. But gradually things settled down and calmness come. You have also observed the same phenomenon in natural calamities when the storm comes everything looks hazy and blurred, but after some time everything will be quite normal, the only thing which changed is our perception, actually, it enhances our experience to deal with such storms and learn how to cope with the damaged made by it. Therefore we can say that every storm in our life teaches us to deal with the new challenges in our life. Hence the more storms will come, the more experienced we will become. In our life which is a one-time journey, what matters most? obviously the experience we have been through. We are born with nothing and will die with nothing. This journey is to take experiences and serve god as well as the needy ones.
Storms are the practical teacher of your life, let us suppose if only good things, good relations, good people, good feelings, only and only goodness will be there in this world then, would you be able to feel it? No, because if you have not tasted bitter things like Bitterguard, then for sure you will not be able to feel the taste of the famous sweet " Gulabjamun". Even you can not differentiate between their tastes. The bitter experiences in our life are the source of reasoning between good and bad, through this, we can learn a lot.
During the storms or the hardships in your journey, if you are the canonist of God then only, you definitely ask the Lord why you are giving me such critical situations, now please give me the way to overcome through this. You will feel stuck in that situation, and it will be like a cage for you, feeling like hell, thinking in such a way that now the same situation will remain forever. If you believe in chanting and the power of the universe, you will do the chanting and ask the universe to give you the right way to come out from that situation. If I talk about myself, then I am the canonist, believes in chanting & the supreme power of the divinity
But in case if you are an atheist, it will be a somewhat problematic situation for you to cope with these hardships, without believing in supreme power. I am not saying that you will not get overcome by such things, just differentiating between both types of people.
Now, if you are the canonist, there is the divine lord in the form of your hope, but if you are an atheist, then at some part you don't have that hope that can help you at certain moments where you need it.
In all this hustle-bustle the storm has passed, so now it's time to feel relaxed and chilled. Here the main scenario begins, have you ever reflect on the things through which you have through. I am expecting the answer would be No. Because, I myself felt the same, when we stuck in any drastic storm we feel like hell and waiting for its end. But once it gets over, we usually forget about that and move ahead. But the main thing that we are missing here is our reflection and showing gratitude. When again everything becomes normal, you have to show gratitude that you are free from that emotional burden, and finally, you are in peace. Reflections are the best thing to do, firstly it will clear the reason behind that storm because everything has its pros and cons, some storms come to save you from the blunder. If you will reflect upon them you will observe that it teaches you a lot, actually, it is preparing you for the battle of your life. You should learn from all those big and small storms. Reflect upon your mistakes and learn from those. Now many of you would also feel a kind of stress, anxiety, or a mild depression sometimes, so in such cases many times it is not possible to recover from those traumas, but it does not mean that there is no way to make your comeback again. In such situations firstly you have to find the one thing that is positive about that storm, somewhere down the lane, there must be the hidden treasure of goodness that would be there. The only thing which has to do is reflect. Try to understand the whole story and the positive outcome from that. For sure you will get your answers. No matter what happens, just know that God has a plan for you, just have a little faith and everything will work out. There are far, far better things ahead than all this.
You know what, there is one saying which goes like..."God's No is actually A 'I have something better in mind'." So when you reflect upon the experiences you have gone through, so focus on why. Why the things had happened in that way, then you will see that it's God's No for you, because he is planning much better than this. If God shuts a door, stop banging on it, trust that whatever is behind it is not meant for you. So when we overcome storms, firstly show your gratitude towards God that he saved you from something which is not meant for you. Give him a big Thanks that he is protecting you from than his best. His ways are far behind than anything you could imagine. Learn from your storms, and see the good things behind them.
"WHEN YOU GO THROUGH
DEEPWATER,
I WILL BE WITH YOU.
AND WHEN YOU GO THROUGH
RIVERS OF DIFFICULTY
YOU WILL NOT DROWN.
WHEN YOU WALKTHROUGH
THE FIRE OF OPPRESSION
YOU WILL NOT BE BURNED UP.
THE FLAMES WILL NOT
CONSUME YOU."
Don't lose your hope whilst all such traumas, always remember this shall also pass. Anyhow you, but you will survive even after these hurdles. One most logical thing is that it is our mind which controls us. So whilst these storms, give a little bit rest to your mind because definitely negatives thoughts come in your mind, and you will feel like hell, many times you think that everything is over now I have no options, How will I survive? So for that period of time bring calmness to your mind by doing the things which give you pleasure. And most importantly stop reacting to anything, because when we start reacting many of the times everything goes messier. Again many questions start arising in our minds. So it's better to give rest to your mind and find the positive reason behind that.
