SIGNIFICANCE OF SELF-DEPENDENT
We all agreed that one day we have
to pay for our greediness. There is a real story about the greedy man, named
Ganesh. Once there was a man, when he was young, his parents used to fulfill
all his wishes and demands. Then, He got married and has children. Still, his
parents gave whole attention to him and his family. His parents loved and
pampered him and his family a lot. Now again the parents started to fulfill the
needs of Ganesh's family. Now he got habitual of those practices. He became
greedy and clever too, he wanted that likewise he can bring up his children and
can fulfill his desires. But after the death of his parents. He thought another
way to squeeze money from others, now he started trapping his elder brothers,
now the same as his parents his brothers bringing up Ganesh and his family.
Ganesh was a clever man; he behaves like an innocent in front of his brothers.
Now as his brothers brought up his children, gave enough luxuries, bank balance
to him and his family. In this way, his needs were getting fulfilled. But
still, he only plans on how to squeeze the money from others. Now as he had
everything he became proudly too.
Now the story of Ganesh took the
next turn. Here his children saw everything, that how their father lived his
life. Cleverness and greediness, both are already in their genes. So they walk
one step more than their father and became clever too. Actually, their father
Ganesh had given every comfort and luxuries to his children by other's money. Now
they have grown up and got educated. but they are chilling out at their home,
doing parties, spending money on fashion, and many more needless things.
Recently I visited their home, one the same moment one baby parrot came
on their window. I saw all of them suddenly brought a cage for it. I asked them
why they are putting that parrot in a cage, let it fly and let it live a life
full of freedom. They gave me a very shocking reply. Ganesh's son said we are
not putting the parrot in the cage, but it wants to be in a cage. Because here
it is getting everything in free, without doing any hard work for food it is
getting yummy food here. And getting everything here. It likes this lavishness.
When I listened to him, the very first thought that came in my mind
was that, is he speaking about himself? It is a seriously funny incident, that
when people talking about themself and they don't know that it's about them
only. In the same way, his son was also speaking about the baby parrot, but it
was actually about him and his family's thinking. At that moment it was quite
clear how are their thinking and their way of seeing life.
Now
Ganesh's children are living a life with luxury, with the savings made by his
father. They got everything in their life, Accept the teaching of hard work and
self- dependency. They did not learn to live a life with self-dependency. They
became sluggish and witty too. Now they also are following the same path as
their father.
In our life, we all should do the hard work to earn living, and
became self-dependent. As parents, we should give this teaching to our
children. That we all should get educated and then became self -dependent. We
can earn our life by ourselves. We all can fulfill our needs by ourselves, but
what matters are the teachings given by our parents. We should know the
significance of self-dependence in our life. If we know its importance then we
will not be like Ganesh's son.
"You have brains in
your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction
you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one
who’ll decide where to go."
