कठोर व्रत: सूर्योदय से चंद्रोदय तक कोई भोजन या पानी नहीं।

करवा: चंद्रमा को जल अर्पित करने के लिए मिट्टी का घड़ा।

प्रचलन: उत्तर भारतीय राज्यों में अधिक प्रचलित है।

अहोई अष्टमी: पुत्रों के कल्याण के लिए करवा चौथ के चार दिन बाद मनाया जाता है।
